Mental Health Emergency Resources

The health, safety, and well-being of our athletes are our highest priorities.

If an athlete experiences a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, self-harm concerns, threats of harm to others, severe emotional distress, or any other psychiatric emergency, please seek immediate assistance using one of the resources below:

• Call 911 if there is an immediate threat to the athlete’s safety or the safety of others.
• Go to the nearest emergency room or contact your local emergency department.
• Fairfax Inova Emergency Room: 703-776-4001 (request the psychiatrist on call).
• National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988, or visit the 988 Lifeline website to chat with a trained crisis counselor.

These resources are available to provide immediate support and guidance during a mental health emergency.

Question 1: What age group does my athlete qualifies for?

Answer 1: See chart below. Search for Month and Year of birth.

Question 2: What is Alchemy Volleyball Academy inclement weather policy?

Answer 2: From time to time, weather may adversely affect Alchemy Volleyball Academy ability to hold various events.  Our families are located in different parts of the area, so some might have a harder time traveling than others. Other than time missed participating in volleyball training and conditioning, there will be no negative impacts to athletes for missing practice due to inclement weather conditions.

If Fairfax County Public Schools close and/or cancel events, practices at those facilities will be cancelled.  Fairfax County Public Schools post weather related notices on their website at https://www.fcps.edu.

If Audrey Moore RecCenter close and/or cancel events, practices at the facility will be cancelled.

If an AVA coach decides to hold practice, the ultimate decision to attend practice will be up to the individual families.

Question 3: What is AVA refund policy?

Answer 3: There will be NO refunds for Tryouts.  If you need to shift your day/time, please email registrations@alchemyvolleyballacademy.com. We will try our best to accommodate the change.  Please keep in mind our spots are limited, so that we can fairly evaluate everyone. If you email/communicate after the event has occurred and you need to change, no refund will be issued.

No season fees will be refunded after acceptance to a team.
